Abstract

The modern city (urban geosystem) today is one of the central elements of the state as a territorial, economic and political entity. The objective trend in Ukraine is an increase in the share of urban and a decrease in the share of rural population. That is why the city as a complex urban geosystem has recently begun to become an object of study, on various aspects of which some results have already appeared. One of the important areas of study of urban geosystems is their socio-economic security (assessment and provision). The purpose of the article is to form the basic principles of determining the directions of strengthening the socio-economic security of the urban geosystem, based on a set of certain conditions and requirements. There are the principle essentials of strengthening social-economic security of an urbogeosystem considered in the article: understanding of the urbogeosystem basing on some theoretical approach that explains its content and specific features of functioning; taking into account evaluations of social-economic security of the urbogeosystem, found threats to its functioning and specific features of a city. The general directions of strengthening social-economic security of the urbogeosystem, principles, limitations and factors of their constructing are considered. Determining the directions of strengthening the socio-economic security of the urban geosystem should be based on a clear idea of its content and features of functioning, to explain which involved the concepts of functionalist and conflictual approaches, as well as interactionism. Urbogeosystem is presented as a complex, internally differentiated and orderly integrity, the elements of which are in constant conflict due to their hidden or open struggle, which is caused by differences in interests not only of the elements themselves, but also of people who not only have their interests but also have own interests, preferences, views and assessments, which are based on decision-making within the given competence for the functioning of the urban geosystem. The directions of increase of social and economic safety of the city given in the general case can be taken as a basis for concrete urbogeosistemy taking into account the revealed threats and features of functioning
