Abstract
The article analyzes the understanding of perfectionism in different approaches and features of individuals with high levels of its manifestation. The author of the article created a scheme of the structure of personality of the perfectionist in accordance with the peculiarities of manifestation of certain qualities in the motivational, emotionalvolitional, cognitive spheres and the sphere of self-consciousness and interpersonal communication. It is determined that the most typical signs of perfectionists are anxiety, rigidity, high level of requirements to oneself, self-criticism, intolerance, tendency to frustration, prolonged experience of traumatic situations, excessive honesty, doubts about the correctness of their actions (important are judgments of their other actions), and getting fixed. In form and content, however, more importance is given to content, more precisely ideas and results, the desire to avoid failure and criticism, the desire to reach the ideal of affairs, hard self-criticism. Participants with high levels of perfectionism are formed in the families of strict parents, and vice versa, in families where children are constantly praised, as well as in disadvantaged families and in families with financial instability. Variants of self-help of the perfectionist are also self-care, separation from the people who “nourish” perfectionism, permission to make a mistake, replacement of internal tension with the acceptance of reality, reconciliation with one’s own negative sides, gradual departure from “idealism”. Important steps in overcoming destructiveness in the activities of the perfectionist are delegation and realistic goal setting, which allows the person to adequately perceive the situation of the tasks
