The article is devoted to generalization of issues relevant with deviant behavior as a complex social and legal-psychological phenomenon. It is stated that the reduction of ethical, moral criteria in general lead to the formation of certain forms of social deviations that reduce the total quality of persons life, destructively affects the persons social identification, creates the critical type of attitude towards their own behavior, causes the state of social disadaptation or even complete isolation of a person from social sphere. As a result unstable social processes are the basis for deviant and delinquent behavior emergence, based on violations of social adaptation procedures, causing desocialization of the individual. The main theoretical and methodological approaches concerning the process of problem’s of human deviant behavior research are revealed. It is noted that the deviant behavior is the most actual problem of the present society and has its own specific nature, identified by scientists as the result of the influence of various factors (organized and spontaneous by their nature) other social affects on the person. The deviant behavior of a person is described as the one of the forms of development of complex social phenomenon. Also the detailed analysis of deviant behavior as a form of social deviation through the representation of the essence of a person itself as well as the consolidation of various causes of deviant behavior of the person was made. As the conclusion various proposals to the current state of social-legal prevention of deviant behavior in Ukrainian law-enforcement system has been outlined. Actual problems of doctrinal and practical prisms of deviation as the social-legal phenomenon were indicated through the needs of stabilization of society and state in basic realms of their functioning. Also the differentiation of deformation of state officers and deviation of general social subjects of law has been mad with the main statement of their uniqueness and the necessity of following scientific researches in this realm was underlined
